Whether you are planning a honeymoon, anniversary escape, or a spontaneous long weekend, this portfolio delivers. Explore our romantic getaways and book your South African escape today.

Our Selection of Romantic Getaways in South Africa

From hilltop boutique hotels to forest-fringed self-catering villas, Raw Africa Collection’s five properties offer distinct flavours of romance across some of South Africa’s most breathtaking destinations.

Sky Villa (Plettenberg Bay)

Perched high above Plett on Baron’s View Estate, Sky Villa Boutique Hotel trades in panoramic drama. Couples looking for a design-led retreat will find 360-degree views of the Indian Ocean and Keurbooms Lagoon, award-winning landscaped gardens alive with birdlife, an infinity pool, a yoga deck, and a Sky Bar crafted for sundowners.

Ocean-view and mountain-view room categories each open onto private balconies, making every morning feel like a private screening of the Garden Route’s best scenery. A full-service restaurant and in-house spa complete the picture.

The Bungalow (Plettenberg Bay)

Steps from the soft sand of Hobie Beach, The Bungalow solves the perennial dilemma of couples who want both beachside ease and boutique polish. Sea-facing accommodation opens onto an outdoor lounge shaded by ancient milkwood trees, with dolphins frequently visible from the shoreline.

A firepit, plunge pool, and oceanfront restaurant with panoramic deck views create an atmosphere that is simultaneously laid-back and luxurious. Bespoke amenities and premium cotton linen are standard.

Ou Baai Villa (George)

For couples craving true seclusion, Ou Baai Villa floats above the forest canopy inside the Oubaai Golf Estate. Wall-to-wall folding glass doors frame uninterrupted views of the Outeniqua Mountains and the Gwaiing River gorge, and a private rim-flow pool provides the ideal setting for unhurried afternoons.

The self-catering format gives pairs the freedom to set their own rhythm. Braai under the stars, sleep late, and let the fish eagles provide the soundtrack.

22 Eikenhoff (Stellenbosch)

Stylish, intimate, and ideally positioned in the heart of Stellenbosch, the 22 Eikenhoff apartment suits couples who want culture alongside comfort.

Wine routes, art galleries, and award-winning restaurants sit within easy reach, while the apartment’s private balcony with braai facilities and sleek interiors that include a Nespresso machine, fine linen, and fibre internet keep things indulgent behind closed doors.

Spanish Farm (Somerset West)

Nestled on a four-hectare estate with views across False Bay and the Helderberg Mountains, Spanish Farm is romance at its most unhurried. The Guest Lodge, Rose Cottage, and villa options suit different moods.

From a cosy cottage with a wood-burning fireplace to more spacious villa accommodation with private nature pools, wooden sundecks, and terraces for al fresco dining. It sits on both the Somerset West and Stellenbosch wine routes, making it an ideal base for slow, wine-soaked days in the Cape Winelands.

Romantic Getaways in South Africa FAQs

Here are answers to the questions we’re asked most often before couples make their booking.

How far is it from Cape Town to each of your properties?

Spanish Farm in Somerset West is approximately a 40-minute drive from Cape Town and around 34 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Our Stellenbosch property (22 Eikenhoff) sits within a similar range.

The Garden Route properties,The Bungalow and Sky Villa in Plettenberg Bay, and Ou Baai Villa in George, are further afield along the N2; we recommend checking current travel time via Google Maps before you depart, as conditions vary by season.

What is Plettenberg Bay known for?

Plettenberg Bay, affectionately called Plett, is renowned for its pristine Blue Flag beaches, warm Indian Ocean waters, and exceptional marine life. It has been designated a Whale Heritage Site, one of only seven globally, making it one of South Africa’s premier spots for whale watching.

The Robberg Nature Reserve, with its dramatic cliff trails and seal colonies, draws hikers and wildlife lovers year-round, while a growing arts, food, and market scene gives Plett genuine cultural depth beyond the beach.
